With its actual home in the Cuncolim village, this diety was taken to Fatorpa in the Inquisition period in the 16th century. The Zatra of this goddess, which appeals tourists and devotees from every corner of the world, is held in Pausha Shuddha Navami.
Shanta Durga Temple in Goa (Kavlem): Situated in Ponda, Goa, at a distance of 33kms from Panaji, this temple is devoted to Goddess Shanta Durga who is the mediator between Lord Shiva and Vishnu. Here the diety is placed inside a gorgeous “Garbhakuda”which was formerly brought from Kelsi. The “Agrashalas” offer accommodation for the devotees visiting the temple from many far-off places.
