The Church of St. Anne Goa, the most popular church in Talaulim, is royally nuzzled in the lush Santana hills. Famous for its outstanding architectural brilliance, The Church of St. Anne Goa is admiringly called by the local people as "Santana". The church was started being built by Monsignor Francisco de Rego in 1577 with his own sponsorship and with the funds of few villagers. He could not complete regrettably complete the construction and that duty was successfully performed by Rev. Fr Antonio Francisco da Cunha, the construction being completed in 1695. The main alter at The Church of St. Anne Goa is dedicated to mother of Virgin Mary, St. Anne.
According to the legends, when the construction of The Church of St. Anne Goa was going an old village priest was given the task of converting the villagers of Talaulim. He chose to build a small sacred place, but failed to consecrate that place in respect of any famous saint. Anyway, Bartholomeu Marchon, an aged villager said that he met an old lady moseying down the hill with her walking stick and a hat who laid claim that The Church of St. Anne Goa was her home and wished to stay there. An aged village woman also claimed to envision in her dreams that same old lady extending her helping hand to her for raising her from the bed when she was critically ill. This celestial being called Anne wished to have a home who cured that aged woman incredibly and that woman, from her sense of gratitude, embraced Christianity. The news of this miraculous cure spread all over the village and the old priest sanctified The Church of St. Anne Goa in the name of St. Anne.

The feast of St. Anne is celebrated every year on the 26th of July all over Goa, Talaulim celebrating it with utmost grandeur. Famous as "Touceachem Fest" or Cucumber Feast, on the day of the feast of St. Anne, the Goans make numerous offerings in respect of St. Anne and make prayers for their well beings.
