Kingfisher Airlines as one of the leading luxury airlines operating in Goa, is based in Mumbai. Kingfisher Airlines has a wide network of service operating in over 30 destinations. The airlines has two other principal bases in Kolkata and New Delhi. Kingfisher Airlines started its journey on 9 May 2005 by hiring 4 Airbus A320 aircraft. Till February 2007 it operated only on domestic routes. But it has plans to start flights to USA with Airbus A380 aircraft. The airline is owned by Vijay Mallya and his company United Beverages Group. The airline is committed to suit the needs of the travelers and charge reasonable fares. However the main aim of the airline is to provide comfort and luxury to its passengers. The airline has come up with new definitions of traveling not known to the Indians before.

Kingfisher Airlines operates in Dabolim Airport at Goa. The airlines has two daily flights to Goa namely IT 306 that leaves Mumbai daily at 1210 hrs and arrives Goa at 1310 hours. Another flight IT 310 leaves Mumbai daily at 1450 hours and arrives at Goa at 1550 hours. Kingfisher Airlines flight number IT 313 leaves Goa at 1630 hours and arrives at Mumbai at 1730 hours daily. Another flight It 309 leaves Goa at 1340 hours and arrives at Mumbai at 1440 hours.

Since Dabolim Airport in Goa is basically a domestic airport, very few numbers of international flights operate in the state. Kingfisher Airlines, as newly born airlines, caters to the need of the countrymen by operating mainly from Mumbai. Thus if one wants to travel to Goa by Kingfisher Airlines one will have to fly down to Mumbai first and from there avail the flight to Goa. The airlines do not have any direct flight to Goa from any other Indian city except Mumbai.
